Barbie Scooter & Puppy: unboxing and review

This is my photo review of 2017 Barbie Scooter & Puppy DVX56.

It is one of the many gifts I received from my brother last Christmas and I am very happy with it. Finally my barbies have a scooter!

The set includes a large puppy, the motorcycle with uncovered trunk, a yellow helmet and 5 stickers. Here I want to make a small observation, because if you look, in the previous photo you can see the handlebar of the bike tilted. Remember this detail :-)

Como modelo, he elegido a mi Barbie Dolphin Magic (review próximamente).

As a model, I have chosen my Barbie Dolphin Magic (review soon). Despite her stiff legs she poses with a lot of style. Maybe I should have chosen a more articulated doll but my brother also gave her to me and I have a special affection for her. So I'll start with her :-)

This time she wears the Grace So In Style SIS Babypath's jersey and of the Barbie Made to Move Skateboarder's pants (another pending review, I have accumulated work hahaha, although you can see her modeling clothes here).

I am very excited about the photographic result, I think this scooter is very photogenic. The sticker on the headlight is already set at the factory, but the speedometer, the rear indicators and the rearview mirrors stickers are our task.

Well, coming back with the handlebar of the scooter, do you remember the picture in the box? The handlebar was tilted and that made me think that it could be turned, as it happens with the bicycle (in a next post I will show you its review and comparison with Steffi's bike).

But to my surprise is not like that, because the handlebar is mounted pressing on the rest of the front (which is rigid) and has a stop that although it gives some slack makes it can not be rotated.

That is to say, the scooter is 100% rigid. As my husband has observed, it is made with 4 assembled plastic pieces (more or less). And in spite of everything, I love this scooter. And what is more important, in Sonrisa Valley, the postman can already deliver the mail hahaha.

Regarding the color combination, I personally like it a lot. The Barbie logos in relief give it a very fine and elegant look. I must admit that the blue Pink Passport Scooter is also very cool (and I suspect it is just as stiff) but finally, when making my wish list for Christmas, I preferred this one. The reason is simple: I have too many dolls with the Millie head mold, so I try not to increase their number.

And what about the wheels? Well, the wheels are very nice and realistic and also rotate (phew, what a relief hahaha). But that's all, as the handlebar does not turn, the front wheel either. Although there is an anecdote with them. Look at the next photo ...

I'll start with the rear wheel, it's normal! That is, it's a fabulous wheel full of details. It doesn't lack anything and everything in it is as expected. Up to here all great ...

On the other hand the front wheel has a peculiarity (red arrow in the previos picture), have you found it? When I realized I was stupefied: incredible, but it is only supported by one side! And it's not a manufacturing defect, it's just designed like this, to save plastic? :-( And the result is, in addition to less aesthetic, more fragile. I do not know if the hands of a destroyer girl would last a lot, but luckily for my scooter and for me, I am not a girl nor am I destroyer hahaha.

So going back to the diorama ...

The puppy is super friendly. She looks big and looks a lot like Rookie, Stacie's puppy in the movie "Barbie and her sisters in a doggie adventure". Could it be that it has grown? :-P I love the idea of having puppies of different ages.

But before continuing, it's time to test the scooter with an MtM barbie doll. Let's go there...

Sasha poses with extraordinary perfection. Its articulated body is ideal for this scooter and do not think that the helmet is not her size, I just felt lazy to undo her bun for the photo hahaha.

Being the Fashionista line my favorite, who can drive this bike? Actually, this doubt has been planned over my head since minute 1 but I have been very distracted taking photos  So without further delay... Is it compatible with a petite, curvy or tall barbie? And with Ken? Let's go with the test...

Barbie PETITE:

Ana (Barbie Fashionistas 81) has been the first volunteer for this test. And surprisingly the scooter is almost perfect for this petite.

Ken ORIGINAL:

He is Ken Dolphin Magic (yes, finally I fell into temptation and added it to my collection). Although his shoes are too big to fit into the holes, his arms reach the handlebars. The support does not fit completely to his waist and the doll does not really get to sit but I'm excited that he rides the scooter hahaha. The helmet only comes in partially because of his sculpted hair but... I do not care, my Ken is not going to run out of scooter :-P

Barbie CURVY:

How could it be otherwise, my mini-me (Barbie Fashionistas 76, pending review) was chosen for this test and the result is positive. Although it is not a perfect fit, it is due to the rigidity of her legs but the support is compatible with her waist and her feet are well positioned.

Barbie TALL:

The chosen one has been Louise (Barbie Fashionistas 79, pending review). Her waist is compatible with the grip but due to her long legs, when holding it, her arms do not reach the handlebar :-(

Ken SLIM:

Pobre Pepe...

Pepe's turn comes, to whom the helmet does not adjust. This time it is not due to his sculpted hair, but to his ears and in general by the width of his head :-D As far as his feet are concerned, they do not enter the holes and his arms do not reach the handlebars. Poor Pepe...

Ken BROAD:

This time the chosen one is my husband's mini-me (Ken Fashionistas 8, pending review). As he shares a shoe number with Ken Original, he can not put his feet in the holes :-D Also, his waist is too wide for the grip, so much so that for a moment I was afraid to break it. And finally his arms do not reach the handlebar... and about the helmet, no comments! I'm sorry for my husband's mini-me but he's going to have to walk hahaha.

I hope this review has been interesting for you and thank you very much for reading my blog. Do you have a motorcycle in your collection?
